Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP launched R&T Asia Resources, a new initiative that involves the placement of personnel in clients to fulfill secondment requests as well as other part-time in-house legal positions. It aims to help clients that need in-house counsel on short-term contacts on an ad hoc basis. The personnel to be deployed to the clients will be selected from R&T Asia Resources' own panel of consultants, which, currently, has 15 lawyers.
R&T Asia Resource's launch was in response to client's need to control legal cost, and is based on a growing trend amongst Singaporeans working part-time. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rajah & Tann Singapore and is overseen by two directors, Ryan Loh and Wilma Cheng from the firm's Restructuring and Insolvency Practice.
Rajah & Tann Singapore is one of the first Asian firms to offer insourcing services, patterned after those used in other developed jurisdictions such as the UK.
