1. What browser versions does this site support?
The system is optimized to work best with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4++. However, you may view it with Netscape Communicator 4.06 ++, although some aspects of the site may not be viewed as well with Netscape as compared to Microsoft Internet Explorer.
2. What if my browser version is lower than the recommended versions (ie, Netscape Communicator 4.06++ or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4++)?
If you are using a browser version that is lower than either Microsoft Internet Explorer 4++ or Netscape 4.06 ++, you may not be able to take full advantage of what the site has to offer. To get the best out of this site, it is recommended that you upgrade your browser to the recommended minimum level versions or higher.
3. I cant seem to access the documents available on eOASIS.
Well, you first need to check whether you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader. For security reasons, all documents on eOASIS are in the Adobe Acrobat format, which requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. If you dont have Adobe Acrobat Reader, the software is available from the Adobe Acrobat site: www.adobe.com. We recommend that you use the latest version, Adobe Acrobat 5.0.
4. I have Adobe Acrobat Reader, but I still cant access the document that I want.
This may be because the particular document that you want to view is particularly large. Although we do our best to keep our file sizes small, this is unavoidable for some of our documents. If you are experiencing slow download times or if the downloading of large files is not feasible on your network or modem connection, we are in the process of including low bandwidth PDF files containing text only for some of our articles. Currently, not all the articles come with this additional feature. For files that do, you will see a message stating, (For Text Only Version).
If the particular article that you want does not have this feature, and you are still experiencing problems with downloading the article, you can contact us at eOASIS@sg.rajahtannn.com for help. We will do our best to assist you.
5. The Acrobat PDF files are being displayed in a separate window from the eOASIS document viewer. What can I do?
Typically, we find that that this is a plug-in issue that arises with some versions of Netscape.
If you are using Netscape, check whether the Acrobat Navigator plug-in (usually named as Nppdf32.dll) is installed in this folder: Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins. If you dont see it there, then you may need to manually move the Acrobat Navigator plug-in to that folder.
In some instances, the Acrobat Navigator plug-in installs with Acrobat to the following folder: Acrobat [5.0 or 4.0]/[Acrobat or Reader]/Browser. Look for the plug-in in that folder, and if you see it there, copy or move the plug-in to Netscape\Communicator\Program\Plugins. You may wish to check with any technical support staff supporting your computer network to ensure that this does not result any adverse knock-on consequences for any other programmes that you are running on your computer or network.
This should correct the difficulties that you are experiencing. If you are still experiencing problems, you can contact us at eOASIS@rajahtann.com. We will do our best to assist you.
